Biography
Hossein Aghababaei is an expert in criminal law and criminology and is currently engaged in teaching and research work as an associate professor at the Faculty of Humanities at the University of Guilan in the Islamic Republic of Iran. He was a guest researcher at the Max Planck Institute in 2003 and 2008. He teaches courses related to criminology and criminal law at the master's and doctorate levels in the law department at the University of Guilan, and many students have completed or are in the process of completing their theses under his supervision. He has authored numerous books and articles in criminal law and criminology, published in domestic and international journals, and has collaborated in multiple research projects. In addition to research at the University, he was in charge of the research affairs management of the faculty of humanities and legal management of the University, and he was the legal director of the Ministry of Science, Research and Technology of Iran from 2017 to 2022. He has been a member of the editorial board of several scientific journals and is the editor-in-chief of the criminal law research journal.
